Faculty of Health Placement Accommodation Information

To assist you to find accommodation for your Health placement, there are a number of external organisations and websites available. 

Please note that the following is not a comprehensive list and any enquires regarding the following information, should be made directly with the respective organisation.

• Brisbane CBD Student Accommodation/Short stay
  
  
• The Health Education and Training NSW website provides a list of Student Accommodation across NSW, including on-site hospital accommodation, with contact details for you to arrange your accommodation.
  
  
• The University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH)offers accommodation for placements inLismore, Casino, Ballina, Maclean and Grafton.  For more information, please visit their website to Register Your Placement.
   
• The University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health (UoNDRH) offers accommodation for placements in Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Moree, Port Macquarie, Tamworth, and Taree. Download the UoNDRH Student Orientation Manual from their website for more information.
  
  
• The Australian Rural Health Education Network (ARHEN) lists other University Departments of Rural Health (UDRH) website in all of the states and teritories in Australia. If you have a rural or remote placement that isn't listed above, please visit the ARHEN website for links to other UDRH sites.

If the above information does not cover your placement site we suggest looking in the UniStays Work Placements tab (if you haven't already done so); other short stay accommodation websites such as Air BnB, Booking.com.au, Stayz.com.au; or searching online noticeboards such as local Facebook pages or Gumtree.

You might also want to consider speaking to past students that have completed a placement at the same location, as they may have information about the accommodation they used. Additionally, if you are going to the same placement site as another student, you could consider staying together to share costs. 

If you happen to find private accommodation (outside of UniStays) that may benefit students in the future, please let your accommodation provider know about our UniStays website so they can add their own listing in the future, alternatively, contact us with their information at unistays@scu.edu.au and we will send them information on offering placement accommodation to students.
