Subject: Room and board offer for a student, partial board in exchange for tutoring

Hi there,

My name is Lauren Exton and my family and I live about 25 minutes from the Coffs Harbour campus, by the beach. We would love to offer a room in our home to an SCU student from Session 2.

The arrangement we have in mind:

- Private furnished room in our family home, with a shared bathroom
- Part of the board is offset by tutoring: roughly 4 hours per week helping our year 7 son with homework routines, organisation and time management (school nights, so a weekday-only boarder who heads home on weekends would suit us really well)
- Remaining board contribution is negotiable and includes all main meals (boarder provides their own snacks)
- No separate bills, we just ask for mindful water and energy use
- We are a relaxed household: myself, my partner and our toddler, plus chickens and a decent sourdough habit

An education, psychology or OT student would be a particularly good fit, as the role is more about coaching study habits than subject expertise, and it is the kind of experience that looks great on a resume. We would require a Working with Children Check, references and a trial period of a few weeks before committing to the semester.
